 to the Rochester Heritage Festival.

The  Recruiting Station will be open  both days.  Come volunteer and  Join us to help preserve the heritage of these United States of America.

TENTH MICHIGAN INFANTRY AT ROCHESTER
 
Camp Norman O. Rowley
and Paint Creek Recruiting Station
 
Norman O. Rowley (1918 -2008) was the founder of the Tenth Michigan Infantry.  He served the unit for over 30 years in a variety of roles including Commanding Officer, Chaplain and Surgeon. 
 
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Staff Sergeant in the 125th Infantry Red Arrow Division during World War II.
 
He was the last member of our family to have actually known Civil War veterans.
 
His last visit to Rochester was in 2005.

Pick up your FREE ticket anytime during the day at the Sutler Tent ( the Civil War store)and then on
SATURDAY EVENING AT 8:30 pm
join us, as members of the Tenth Michigan Infantry take you back in time to the year 1864.
You will be guided through the camps by the glow of candlelight and campfires to see scenes depicted from an army on the march and at the front. 
See the Sights and Sounds of an era now past
 
Our Sutlers, Regimental Supply and The General's Lady, will be on site with a full shop of period Civil War goods for both the reenactor and the general public.  Last year the Blue & Gray hats and rifles for the kids sold out so come early to get your set as the sutler's are coming back with a fresh supply. 
Also, a first at Rochester - Cartridge Candy at the Civil War Candy Shop.
 
Living history camps are always open, feel free to stop by and ask questions, sing songs at the fire or maybe stop in for a game of poker and a sample taste of soldiers hardtack. Weevils optional!

The Artillery Drill & Firing of our Mountain Howitzer Cannon!!!  This will be accomplished several times each day.  Please check the schedule so you don't miss out!.
 
Civil War era Fashion Show on Saturday.
